Follows a journey from the island of Palu'é to the mainland of Flores to purchase water buffalo for sacrifice. Back on Palu'é a series of sacrifices are held to make amends for transgressions. The events filmed form part of the ceremonial cycle of the domain of Ko'a. This cycle constitutes the main arena in which the order of precedence is periodically contested and reasserted. Instances of contestation are shown and the strategies employed by various factions of the domain are highlighted.
